Maple Vinaigrette Recipe

Did you ever notice that it's more enticing to have a salad at a restaurant than at home?  Have you ever wondered why?  For me, it's the ingredients they choose, and the intriguing dressing.

So today, I made a fresh salad that was very quick, yet tasty.  The salad was composed of:  baby spinach, avocado, cucumber, tomatoes, nectarine, cilantro, slivered almonds, and a maple vinaigrette.  The combination of ingredients created a sweet and creamy flavour with just a hint of tartness.  It took me a very short time to prepare the salad, and even less time to make the vinaigrette.

To make your own maple vinaigrette it's simple, just use equal parts balsamic vinegar to maple syrup, and half that amount of olive oil.
So for a personal size salad, use:
1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar (alternatives: apple cider vinegar or white vinegar)
1 Tbsp maple syrup
1/2 Tbsp olive oil
If you prefer a sweeter salad, just use a little more maple syrup.
Enjoy!
